The Sunshine Ionizer kills bacteria and algae in your Spa.  The ionizer electrodes have a small DC voltage applied to them which forces copper and zinc ions to pass from one electrode to the other.  The ions are caught up in the water as water passes between the electrodes.  These copper and zinc ions attack and kill the bacteria and algae in your spa.  To maintain clean, clear water all you need to add is a chemical sanitizer ( chlorine or non chlorine ) to your Spa after each use to kill all the organics in your Spa.   So, stop relaxing in harsh expensive chemicals and enjoy the spring like water of an ionized Spa with the Sunshine Ionizer.

The electrodes are made of a custom made copper and zinc alloy designed for water treatment and are 2 to 10 times larger than other spa ionizers so our electrodes last longer and the replacement electrodes are a better value.  Check out our electrode weights and compare.  Many other ionizers use copper only electrodes, which is not as effective as our electrodes.  Sunshine Pool Products has been manufacturing the Sunshine Ionizers since 1991 making them one of the earlier and more experienced ionizer manufacturers.

You should not use a cartridge ionizer.  They are very expensive, have to be replaced every few months, and you have very little or no control on the amount of ionization being produced.  They are sold without a test kit so you never know what the ion level is and if it is safe to reduce the sanitizer level.  The best method of ionizing a spa and the lowest cost over time is with an electronic ionizer.  If you don't want to invest in our Sunshine Ionizer then the next best thing is to use our Instant Ions and a copper test kit to ionizer your spa.  Instant Ions are an ionizer in a bottle.  The Nature 2 spa cartridge costs about $38 and lasts 4 months.  A pint of Instant Ions cost about $19 and lasts more than a year in a spa, and only needs to be tested and added every few weeks.
