Requirements
PURITY
requires 8 to 24 hours of
operation daily.
You will need 3,000 ppm of salt, and 60 to 80 ppm of stabilizer
(Cyanuric acid) for proper
operation. We also recommend using 3 lbs Sodium Bromide (Bromine
Salt) per 10,000
gallons of pool water.
Sodium Bromide is available
below. Salt is available at
most hardware, grocery, and pool stores. Stabilizer is
available at most pool retail stores. A little Salt, Sodium
Bromide, and Stabilizer are added just once or twice a year as pool
water is replaced. They all stay in the water and do not
dissipate once added to the water.

How do I determine what size system
will treat my pool?
The capacities
above are the maximum capacities
for a residential pool with a light bather load, Sodium bromide, and
stabilizer added to pool water, and with the system
operating 8 to 24 hours a day. It is very important that you
purchase
a system that is
large
enough to properly sanitize your pool.
Can I use a
THUNDER
Ozone Generator with PURITY?
Yes, you can use
any of our systems
together. Using a properly sized ozone system with PURITY
provides even greater water quality and can double the capacity of
PURITY. For more

What do I need to know about my pool when
ordering?
You will need to
know if your filter pump is
connected to 120 or 240 volts, and if your filtration plumbing is
1 1/2" or 2".
How do I
install PURITY to my pool?
You will need to
install the cell fittings after the filter. You
will need to install the generating cell in place of a 90 degree elbow
fitting with at least 3" of pipe on one side and 14" on the other side
with no other fittings,
and a 6" length of strait pipe to cut and install the ionizer tee
fitting on models with an ionizer.
The AC power is installed to the pump
timer
output so that it only has power when the filter pump is running.
Model P10MRI is just
placed in the pool water and suspended by its cord and the power supply
is plugged into a GFI outlet. Models, P20MR, and P20MRI are
plugged into an outlet that is wired to the pump timer so that it has
power only when the pump is running. Many
customers install their system themselves. Your local pool
dealer can install it for you if you prefer.
On models P10MRI, P20MR, P20MRI the power
supply is not weather proof so if your
outlet is outdoors a weather proof outlet cover must be installed over

How often will I have to clean the
electrodes?
With PURITY your
electrodes may never need to
be
cleaned. If the
electrodes should need cleaned, they are easy to clean.
How do you clean the electrodes?
To clean; turn off
the power to the pool pump and
your
controller. Add 1 part hydrochloric (muriatic) acid to 5 parts
water
in a covered plastic container. Remove the electrode cell.
Place the electrode cell in the
solution
for five minutes or until all scale is removed. Rinse the cell by
dipping it in container of
water. Replace the cell and hand tighten the unions.
Turn the pump and controller power back on. Do not try to clean
the
electrodes
with a brush or any other object. If you use a container with a
lid,
such as a 5 gallon plastic container, you can store the cleaning
solution
and use it many times.
Can an ionizer be used
with PURITY?
Models P20MRI,
& P40RI come with an
ionizer
and model P10MRI come with Instant Ions to ionize pool water.
PURITY must be
used with an ionizer to allow only
a
low .1 to .2 parts per million (ppm) chlorine level.
With the
two systems working together algae problems will be a thing of the past
because the
ionizer
eliminates algae. By using both a Chlorine Generator and Ionizer
system
you get the benefits of both. The Ionizer reduces the chlorine
demand
which increases the capacity of the generator, and improves the water
quality
even more because all you need to do is maintain a low .1 to .2
ppm
chlorine
level. With this low level you won't even know the chlorine is
there
without testing for it. Every pool should be ionized.

Why add Bromine Salt?
Adding Bromine Salt (Sodium Bromide) increases
the efficiency of PURITY. Bromine Salt is activated by any
oxidizing sanitizer, so the chlorine produced
activates the bromine salt adding bromine to the pool water and
eliminating all chlorine odors even at high chlorine levels.
Why do I need to add a
Stabilizer (Cyanuric Acid)?
The liquid chlorine that is produced by PURITY is
not stabilized, so the sun will destroy the chlorine as fast as it is
produced unless a
stabilizer is added to the pool water.
